about

Hey if you want to download this album for free, you can go to my soundcloud page and do that. Bandcamp only allows so many free downloads a month...so if you don't wanna pay for this but want it anyway feel free to go download it there. www.soundcloud.com/djinform. It seems weird to pay bandcamp to allow people to download my music for free....of course you can still pay me if you want :) PEACE

The Fair Use Project Part 2

(Or how I learned to stop worrying and make the craziest attention deficit disorderly mix I could)

This is the follow up to the first Fair Use Project, an idea I originally had to use all the records I had lying around that had already been sampled by people more famous than me to mix up and make something fresh with. Some people loved it, sometimes it was met with confused looks or comments, but overall its something I'm proud of. If you like this second one, you'll probably dig the first one too.

Since dropping that last mixtape, I've been busy producing stuff for different rappers, some of which can be found elsewhere on my Bandcamp site. Also buying and selling tons of records and DJ'ing a lot. I moved to San Diego from Columbus, Ohio. Now representing Dojo Soundz collective. BOOM

***DISCLAIMER: YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM***
I scratch a lot and it moves really quickly, with tons of strange music from old records. Some people aren't tryin' to hear shit like that. That's cool. This project is for open minded people. It's also for DJ's that started DJ'ing with records, people who appreciate 90's hip hop and 70's funk, fans of music that look beyond whats on the radio, record collectors, people who are severely ADD and do not like to sit still, scratch nerds, and in general people who like to listen to music and vibe out and appreciate something different. It's a lot to take in at first listen, I understand that, but who knows, if you don't like it at first it may grow on you.

ABOUT THE TITLE
I got the idea for the title from doing research on sampling laws, and specifically how they have been interpreted over the years. Most of my favorite hip hop music was built from samples, and when the laws changed to make sampling a lucrative business for lawyers, the practice of sampling in popular music fell off some. I got into a ton of other types of music through hip hop, as I know a lot of my friends did as well. So, it only feels right to me to represent the full range of music myself and my friends are into (with absolutely no regard for sampling laws) and maybe someone out there will dig it and spend some time familiarizing themselves with something old but new to them. And hopefully the fact that you can download for free will prevent me from getting sued. Hopefully.
